"The Cotton Moisture People"
Sled II & Hot Box Sensor

Back

The "Sled" was developed in the mid-1990's for sensing moisture of seed cotton entering the gin on a conveyor belt. Today, the Sled II (pictured left) works even faster, is more rugged, and requires less space (only 24") to install. For an even more compact setting, the Hot Box II (pictured right) can be equipped with a Sled II as part of its inlet gate. This requires 0" of belt space reserved for moisture sensing!  Each of these sensors remain the fastest device available for sensing wet cotton and setting the drying temperature accordingly. Fast response gives the gin operator the margin of comfort he needs to operate at lower temperatures. This saves fuel, staple, and production.

Both of these sensors are capable of automatically adjusting their settings based on signals from on-line cotton classing systems like the Uster Intelligin. Find out more about the Moisture Mirror II.
