"The Cotton Moisture People"
Universal Resistance Sensor

Back

When used with a Moisture Mirror, the 80300 Universal Resistance Sensor from Samuel Jackson may be used throughout a cotton gin in a variety of applications. Some places that our customers have used them with good results are:

As an incoming moisture sensor in a conventional feed control bin.
As an incoming moisture sensor just above a vacuum under the module feeder head.
As an incoming moisture sensor on a twin screw auger discharge.
As an after-drying moisture sensor in a live overflow bin.
As an after-drying sensor in an extractor-feeder hopper over a gin stand.
As an after-drying sensor in the chute between the number two inclined cleaner discharge and a gravity feeder.

The user programmable peak-hold capability of Samuel Jackson Moisture Mirrors, combined with the speed of this sensor, make its flexibility unique in today's high speed cotton ginning environment. Note that when this sensor is correctly grounded to the machinery it is mounted to, the effects of static electricity on sensor accuracy have been dramatically reduced, if not eliminated. This was a consideration on prior sensor models, particularly when applied above a gin stand feeder in dry ginning conditions.
